Link Roundup: 2 April 2007

Posted by Vox on 2 April 2007

I updated the College Racism Roundup page a little bit. Also, can someone please teach me how to use coComment? I can’t get it to work. Does it only work on WordPress blogs?

Blog Links
RWOC Theorists PT 6: Pumla Dineo Gqola — Another great installment in bfp’s series of posts about radical women of color.

Inspecting the Proverbial Fork — Sylvia has been taking a legal look at the death threats received by blogger Kathy Sierra. This is part 2; there’s a link to the first part there.

Call for Submissions: AMC Art Show at Wayne State — Nadia’s looking for art submissions on media representation and misrepresentation.

Aboriginal health care a scandal — Fire Fly spotted a report from Oxfam about health conditions for indigenous Australians.

“The essence of sexism is that ‘male’ is the unremarkable ‘default state.’” — A discussion of the role of women in science fiction writing versus their recognition.

Ignorance is Bliss — Donna talks about Operation Condor and U.S. intervention in Latin America.

Yoshiaki Yoshimi and the Truth About World War II — Kai talks about the Japanese government’s denial of unpleasant historical acts and healing old wounds.

Just a few thoughts — Last but far from least, go read this. Just click.

News Links
Hitler link alarms German resort — You’d think that they might have thought about taking Hitler’s name off of their list of honorary citizens before now, right?

Brothers missing for months found dead — This is so sad; their poor family. I hope it doesn’t turn out to be foul play.

I have a lot more flagged in the feed reader, but those have been sitting for a while due to my portfolio requirements, and I wanted to share. Of course, having this stuck in my head has not helped my focus at all.

No problem. Will the submissions be shown online as well? I’d love to see the show when it’s completed. :-)
