I Need to Calm Down

Crisis in Tabasco, Mexico

Posted by Vox on 3 November 2007

Right now, flooding in Mexico has driven nearly one million people out of their homes. Eighty percent of the state of Tabasco is underwater - EIGHTY PERCENT. I live in an area prone to floods, but even when they’re at the worst, only a handful of area communities are affected, not eighty percent of the state.

BFP has an incredible amount of information at her blog, including a link to the state of Tabasco’s website, which includes information on how to help/get help.

  1. John Rivera Says:

Catholic Relief Services has committed $1 million to emergency relief in Mexico. We are working with Caritas Mexicana and Caritas Tabasco, both Catholic agenicies, to provide food, water, shelter and emergency supplies to the people displaced by the flooding.
